Abstract

Investment is part of the process of allocating assets owned with the aim of obtaining higher value in the future. The low level of Islamic financial literacy will provide an illustration that Islamic and conventional investment instruments often do not have fundamental differences. This community service initiative was conducted to educate lecturers at Universitas Muhammadiyah Jambi about Sharia investment instruments available in the Indonesian capital market. Sharia Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) became the object of educational instrument in community service with 25 participants consisting of lecturers from the Faculty of Economics, Business and Social Humanities and also lecturers from the Faculty of Science and Technology, Muhammadiyah University of Jambi. The activity took place on Juni 15, 2026, at the Universitas Muhammadiyah Jambi (UM Jambi) Campus I, led by a team of five UM Jambi lecturers. The findings revealed a lack of literacy regarding Sharia financial instruments in the capital market; consequently, some lecturers possessed little to no knowledge about capital market investments, particularly regarding Sharia-compliant financial instruments. It is hoped that this educational initiative will enhance the participants' literacy regarding capital market investment instruments specifically those that are safe and Sharia-compliant thereby ultimately increasing their participation in direct capital market investment through the Universitas Muhammadiyah Jambi Investment Gallery.
