Plagiarism Policy
The INSIGHT: Journal of Community Engagement and Empowerment is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and ethics. As such, we take a strong stance against plagiarism and consider it a serious offense.
Plagiarism is defined as the act of using someone else's work, ideas, or words without proper citation, credit, or acknowledgment. This includes, but is not limited to, direct copying, paraphrasing, and self-plagiarism. We use a range of tools and techniques to detect plagiarism, including plagiarism detection software, and thoroughly investigate all allegations of plagiarism.
Our plagiarism policy is guided by the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and adheres to the following standards:
- Originality: All manuscripts submitted to INSIGHT: Journal of Community Engagement and Empowerment must be original and not have been previously published or under consideration for publication elsewhere.
- Proper Citation: Authors must properly cite all sources used in their research, including direct quotes, paraphrased text, and ideas.
- Double-Blind Review: To prevent any potential conflicts of interest, we employ a double-blind review process, where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous.
- CC-BY License: All articles published in INSIGHT: Journal of Community Engagement and Empowerment are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC-BY) license, which allows for the free use, sharing, and adaptation of the work, provided the original author and source are properly credited.
In the event of suspected plagiarism, we will take the following actions:
- Investigation: We will conduct a thorough investigation, which may involve contacting the author, reviewing the manuscript, and seeking input from experts in the field.
- Retraction: If plagiarism is confirmed, we will retract the article and issue a formal statement explaining the reason for the retraction.
- Author Sanctions: In cases of severe or repeated plagiarism, we may impose sanctions on the author, including a ban on future submissions to the journal.
By submitting a manuscript to INSIGHT: Journal of Community Engagement and Empowerment, authors acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to our plagiarism policy and will adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity.
