Peer Review Process
The INSIGHT: Journal of Community Engagement and Empowerment adheres to a rigorous and transparent review process, ensuring the highest standards of academic integrity and quality. Our journal operates under the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and adheres to its guidelines for editors and publishers.
The review process is double-blind, where both the reviewers and authors remain anonymous to each other. This approach helps to eliminate bias and ensures that manuscripts are evaluated solely on their academic merit.
To ensure the integrity of the review process, we follow these guidelines:
- Manuscript Evaluation: Each manuscript is initially assessed by the Editor-in-Chief to determine its relevance to the journal's scope and its potential contribution to the field of community engagement and empowerment.
- Peer Review: Manuscripts that pass the initial evaluation are sent to at least two independent reviewers, who are experts in the relevant field. Reviewers are asked to evaluate the manuscript based on its originality, methodology, results, and conclusions, as well as its relevance to the journal's scope.
- Review Criteria: Reviewers assess manuscripts based on the following criteria:
- Originality and significance of the research
- Methodological soundness and rigor
- Clarity and coherence of the writing
- Relevance to the journal's scope and audience
- Revision and Resubmission: Based on the reviewers' feedback, authors may be required to revise their manuscript. The revised manuscript is then re-evaluated by the reviewers to ensure that the authors have addressed the concerns and suggestions.
